BOPF stands for “Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings’, which is the most common grade in Sri Lanka. This fine Ceylon tea comes as neat, clear and smaller leaves. Smaller than BOP leaves, slightly larger than dust and brews a fairly strong liquor. Generally, BOPF is used for a fine cup of plain tea or even accompanied by milk and sugar.
